The ALS fee

ALS and unemployment benefits are financed by employers and employees through a fee, which is currently set at 0,8% of the A-income.

The following are required by law to pay the ALS fees:

  • Employees who receive A-income (income taxed at source), reside in or are fully liable for tax in the Faroe Islands and are older than 16 and younger than 67
  • Employers who pay A-income
